Terms of use

In short: free to use, for learning. Clefle tries hard to check your playing correctly but it doesn't replace a teacher, and your progress lives on your device, so keeping it safe is up to you.
1. Agreeing to these terms
Clefle is made and run by The Clefle team. By using Clefle you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it. Children should use Clefle with a parent or guardian, or with their permission.
2. What Clefle does
Clefle helps you learn to read violin notes and find them on the fingerboard, with play-along exercises that listen through your microphone. It is free right now. We may add, change or remove features. If a paid part is ever added, its price and conditions will be stated clearly before you pay anything.
3. Pitch checking
Checking your pitch through a microphone depends on the device's microphone, the noise in the room and where the device is placed, so it will sometimes be wrong. Results are for practice only — not for exams or grading — and are no substitute for a teacher listening to you play.
4. Your data
Your progress lives in the browser on your device — see Privacy. We hold no copy, so we can't recover lost progress. Back it up with "Save progress to a file".
5. Fair use
Please don't try to attack, overload or break the site, and don't copy Clefle's content to resell it or publish it elsewhere as your own.
6. Ownership
The course, design and code of Clefle belong to The Clefle team, except for the violin recordings, fonts and libraries made by others, which are used under their own licenses — see Credits.
7. Limitation of liability
Clefle is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss arising from using or being unable to use Clefle, including lost learning progress. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
8. Changes to these terms
Updated terms are posted on this page with the date they changed. Important changes will be announced clearly in the app before they take effect.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without taking away any protection the law of your own country gives you as a consumer. If something goes wrong, please contact us first so we can sort it out together.
